(DISCLAIMER: This review is based on my opinion only.)

Dessa is a nomad and lives with her family who constantly move around, along with her best friend and crush, Cyrus. She wants to go to art school and have a chance at a new life. But when an unexpected internship opportunity presents itself, Dessa is forced to make a difficult choice, to stay and risk losing the boy she loves or to continue to follow the life of her family.

I hated that Dessa’s parents didn’t try to talk to her about the financial problem and I really symphatized with Dessa about wanting to go to college. I LOVED the message behind this book, that college isn’t everything and you can still chase your dreams, even if you take a path that is less taken.

I personally resonated strongly with this book and it tugged at my heartstrings. I felt that Dessa’s character arc was pretty good and the ending was bittersweet. I really enjoyed the nice story progression.
