Review:

(Technical)

The shots were raw, warm and oriental, helping to bring out the family/homely vibe along with the Japanese/Chinese feel for the ninjas.

The music was oriental and adventurous, helping to build the emotions for the touching and fight scenes.

(Story)

Garmadon, an evil warlord attacks the city of Ninjago frequently, his son, Llyod is the leader of a group of ninjas who defeat him.

(Thoughts)

I was so excited when I saw Jackie Chan! Majority of us asian kids grew up watching his films.

It was pretty witty and funny. It was like watching Power rangers in lego form. I liked the conflict of the movie with the father being the villain and the son having to take the blame from the people around him.

I didn’t like the videos they used when talking about the ultimate weapon (and so on), it felt amateurish although those videos are kind of true, maybe 30-40 years ago.

I liked the story progression, it was simple and cheesy, but it did the trick. I was pleasantly surprised at how emotional the entire movie was.
