Danielle has her future all planned out, until she fails senior english and gets rejected by Ohio State, the only college she applied to. She gets back on track when she applies to a local community college with a plan. But what she doesn’t expect is a run in with her childhood crush, Luke.

The book is filled with a ton of drama and great progression of events. But I wasn’t really keen about the whole ‘cheating’ thing. I mean, the incident depends on how someone defines cheating and for me, it considered and I wasn’t really cool about it.

I did like how everything was wrapped up, but there was also a realistic ending of uncertainty of the future. I finished the book in one sitting.

Juniper, Jasper and Lenny co-own a vlog channel named Werevlogginghere and their fans ship Jasper and Juniper together. When they decide to create a segment called kiss cam, more requests flood in and leaves Juniper and Jasper questioning their feelings after they begin playing a dangerous game of out-kissing each other.

They really are cute together and I ship them too! I really liked the concept and the budding romance between Juniper and Jasper. I really enjoyed the conflict and progression of story.

The ending was great and this book made my heart so happy somehow. I would really love to see this book as a movie!

Book review: Everless (Everless #1) By Sara Holland (4 stars)

In the Kingdom of Sempera, time, in terms of blood can be turned into the currency of iron coins. Jules hates the Gerlings with a burning passion, ever since her father and her had to flee Everless due to an unfortunate accident. Now, Jules discover that her father’s time is running out and she must once again return to Everless to earn more time.

I really loved the concept of this book and this was one of my anticipated releases for 2018! Imagine a mixture of A Court of Thorns and roses, Red Queen and The Cruel Prince, this book is the perfect result.

The world building was really good and it sucked me instantly, the pacing was okay. We are also kept in suspense of the Queen’s motives and found it really cool that Ina and Jules have become friends instead of Jules hating on her for marrying Roan.

I really liked Jules as a character, she was cool, kind and really takes responsibilities for her actions. At the same time, she’s also really brave and daring.

I liked how the story unfolds and plays out, the revelations in this book amazed me a lot. I wasn’t emotionally connected to the characters, but I was to the story. Everless was so unpredictable, mysterious and thrilling, leaving the readers feel the strong ripples that Everless left in it’s quake.

Anime Movie Review: Fireworks, should we see it from the side or the bottom? (2017) (2 Stars)

Title: Fireworks, should we see it from the side or the bottom? (Uchiage hanabi shita kara miru ka yoko kara miru ka?) (2017)

Genre: Anime, Drama, family, romance

Synopsis:

School children Norimichi, Yûsuke and Jun’ichi want to know if fireworks look round or flat from the side. They make a plan to find the answer at a fireworks display, while Nazuna schemes to run away with Norimichi or Yûsuke, whoever wins at the pool.

Rating: 2 stars

Review:

A bunch of friends wonder, are fireworks round or flat when looked at from the side? So they make plans to find out during a firework display while their schoolmate plans to run away, with whoever wins their little wager at the pool.

I loved the realistic scenic animation and the music is light and gentle.

When Norimichi regrets his decisions, an orb that Nazuna finds helps him to change the outcome various times during crucial moments.

The concept was really interesting, but I felt that it didn’t link to the orginial plot of the anime which was a girl wanting to run away from her mother’s new marriage decision and a boy who desperately wanted to help her. But the whole concept really did make me think, but at the end of the day, isn’t it just about perspective?

Unfortunately for me, from the start till the end of the anime movie, I was confused since there was no proper closure and ending to the anime and there actually wasn’t much of a good plot threading through the entire movie.

Have you watched this movie? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

(DISCLAIMER: This review is based on my opinion only.)

Elyse has been trained to fight monsters, to protect mankind from legendary monsters. She has never fallen in love, until she meets Apollo. But he isn’t the only god on Earth, Hades captures her attention too, and with him comes a deadly shadow that kills where it lurks.

I like that we get 3 different POVs (usually I’m not a fan of so many POVs), but we get to get into their heads to see how each character handles what is going on.

Imagine Shadow Hunters combined with the Greek gods plus a ton of steamy scenes.

I love that Elyse is a strong heroine, she’s a fighter and she’s determined. She knows what she needs to do and gets it done. She doesn’t stop until the job is done. I personally was a fan of Hades.

This book was sexy, dangerous and seductive, like the Greek gods that appear in this book. I also liked that we were slowly introduced to each different god. It was engaging, easy to grasp and fun to read. I didn’t expect to finish this book so quickly and wanted to read more!

The writing style, concept and story was captivating as well!
