How it all started..
Well, I actually started my blog because I felt that I didn’t remember stories while reading them and mainly because I was bored. I didn’t have a ton of friends, only one and we both read, but we have differing interests in terms of genres. So I just gave blogging a go and never actually really expected my followers to grow or that it would be something that I ended up really liking! Because I’m more of a person who uses words and writing to express myself, so I guess a blog would be very fitting!
Also, since I blog full-time (but don’t earn money), it has taught me a lot and helped me make awesome blogger friends! Also, I get more motivated to write and share books that I love with other people! Initially I started this blog for fun, but over time, it kinda became something that I wished I had when I just started going back into YA books. Since I was still finding my genre and interests, I wished that I had more reviews that would tell me whether I would like a particular book or not, so I decided that I should do something like that too.
Advice to New Bloggers..
Do it because you want to. Don’t be inclined to write certain posts to fit in! For example a ton of people write wrap-ups (no shade, I think it’s cool that you guys write them!), but I personally don’t because the way my posts are released and the way I read are quite different. My posts usually have been scheduled MONTHS in advance and I would be reading a totally different book at the time! So I rather not mix things up and usually only update my CR on my insta-story!
Don’t be afraid to do other niches. Personally for me, when I started my blog I knew that I couldn’t just focus on books, because I really liked watch movies (film student problems) and decided to review them too! And then I started to blog about almost everything! book reviews, movies, anime, cartoons, travel, beauty (to come soon next year! The posts are scheduled already actually!), so yeah, don’t be afraid to explore and posts things that are different from your initial niche! Because with more different posts, you’ll attract bigger audiences and you’ll meet other people with similar interests since everyone has more than one thing they like!
