(DISCLAIMER: This review is based on my opinion only.)

Agnieszka lives in a village where they depend on an ageless wizard-the Dragon to protect them from the forest’s dark magic. In exchange, a young woman from the village must serve him for 10 years. Agnieszka fears that her best friend, Kasia will be taken.

This story definitely showed a lot of promise and reminded me of a Grimm’s fairy tale, like Beauty and the Beast. I did like the writing style, but felt that the pacing was extremely slow.

It’s not a bad book, but the pacing really threw me off and bored me.

I like the Eastern European-feel to this, what with the names, and the sense of nature and folk tales. I have Spinning Silver by this author in my Amazon basket, and I think I will be giving this one a go too!
