Ton is moving to London to study abroad but ends up getting robbed by a phantom. Ton chases the phantom into Café Forbidden and meets a group of guys telling her that she is the descendant of a famous Umbra hunter.

Shadowhunters + Neo angelique abyss vibes.

Okay, I would like to ask her how can she not react after coming face to face with Vlad’s ripped body?😂 We meet Vlad, Toryu, Wayne and Luke we are are Umbra (aka paranormal creatures), born of human fear and anxiety.

I definitely was shipping Shinyao and Chris (am I the only one?) and Ton and Vlad.

Music is dark and dramatic. And I found this anime pretty funny. I like the progression and how the stakes were raised frequently. Although I’m still not sure whether it counts as reverse harem, I personally don’t think so because there isn’t much romance besides flirting.

I like that Ton isn’t like a weak protagonist, she doesn’t run from the fight and keeps trying.  I actually did like the characters and story, but there wasn’t much of a character arc because the way the heroine was established was already pretty strong. Would I watch a season 2 if there were? Yes, but it’s not one of the very good or memorable anime.

Aoi visits an antique shop named Kura and meets Kiyotaka, also known as Holmes, grandson of the owner and she ends up works at the shop.

I like the animation style and light music but it definitely seems that it would be pretty light and on the safe side as compared to it’s name since I was expecting more mystery/horror and maybe a splash of romance.

First 2 cases were too simple, because the evidence was kinda obvious if you paid extreme attention. Well, my initial prediction was kinda right, but there wasn’t any strong cases (in my opinion, more of counterfeit items) for the first half. The cases in the 2nd half made more sense and was a little more difficult to decipher.

I’m starting to think Kiyotaka is more of a psychologist rather than Holmes, but his dark side was definitely interesting and I wished it would be explored more. The main villain throughout the series was Ensho, a counterfeiter motivated by Kiyotaka’s discerning eye.

It was pretty funny, but the protagonist wasn’t interesting and only Kiyotaka interested me (well, not only because he’s hot, but because he has this dark side that isn’t explored).

The most out of a character arc you can get from the protagonist is that at the start she likes Cafe au lait and by the end she is drinking black coffee to become more ‘adult’.  I definitely wished there was stronger romance, but story and character-wise, this anime wasn’t really strong.

Yuki confesses to her crush a year younger, Momo and they go out. Yuki seems normal on the outside but is obsessed with Momo.

It’s kinda creepy that Yuki knows every detail about him, but I have to agree that he’s really cute. AHHH They are so cute! It’s pretty funny with it’s well-timed comedy.

Music was gentle and upbeat, animation style was cute. Reminded me of a younger version of Kimi ni todoke.

I love that Yuki is smart yet really weird and cute a the same time. The story was definitely pretty lighthearted, but the romance and comedy was pretty good.

This anime is definitely good for shoujo romance beginners!

Anime Review: Brothers Conflict (1 star)

Ema’s dad has just remarried and she has decided to move in with her 13 other brothers. Romance starts to bloom between them

I hesitated a lot before starting this anime because, this was one of those reverse harems I was talking about, where you had 13 routes to choose from! (Since this anime was derived from a game.)

I did find that the brothers were nice to her (regardless of the romantic attraction). My favourite was Yusuke.

The main problem I had was that there are too many characters and I can’t really remember their names! Although I like that the characters are diverse though, we have voice actors, doctors, lawyers, students, a ton of them from all different professions. With all 13 jam packed into this anime, I was more confused as to what was going on and was sure that there was no storyline.

Things progressed really fast, but she shouldn’t have let the brothers walk all over her. It’s weird to see all the guys liking her though, but it also felt very rushed, I think they should have split the anime into like different seasons and focus on a family of brothers for each one. I get that they wanted to squeeze all the boys in as an introduction, but it just made all the boys seem really well, shallow in terms of character.

I mean, things were progressing too quickly, especially like having a kiss scene in every freaking episode. Like stopping at a hug would be better, I guess?

I liked the animation style. I was more satisfied with the end and to be honest, I wanted this anime to be over as quickly as possible. It made me uncomfortable to a large extent at how the protagonist let her step brothers walk all over her.

Tsugumi is a noble and wants to marry someone she doesn’t know to help her family, but then her brother, Hitaki, suddenly tries to kill himself and they find a mysterious book in his hands. Tsugumi is then thrust into the world of the ‘ Imperial Library Intelligence Asset Management Bureau’ (a.k.a. Fukuro) and the Fukuro are tasked to get rid of these books/tomes that cause it’s readers to experience a surge of intense emotions. After the accident with Hitaki, Tsugumi is able to see the ‘auras’ of these books and she decides to join the Fukuro to prevent any more people trying to kill themselves.

Music was eerily creepy and it definitely seemed dark since the first episode. Aside from that extremely weird intro with the whole cabaret thing going on and the outro with a ton of eye candy for the girls, the story definitely looks promising.

Hayato is my main favourite here, but Akira follows closely behind as a good second!

I love that the protagonist, Tsugumi, was quickly convinced and motivated to respond to the call of action. I love that it’s so book-centric and focuses on how books could negatively and positively affect people! It was full of action and twists and turns.

Trigger warning: suicide and death. (I feel the need to put this here because this anime is definitely one of the darker ones I’ve seen, although it’s targetted for girls.)

It was exciting to see how the entire anime and story unfolded, it was definitely darker than what I expected and I love the revelations in this story. I LOVE the build up until the final episode. I loved seeing Tsugumi and Hayato together and would LOVE to see a season 2 (So far no news yet)!
