Review:

A couple must navigate their way through their lives while dealing with their parent’s feuding over the best pizza.

The lighting/coloring was mainly warm, but also pretty dull, which was definitely not a good sign as it made the movie seem pretty lifeless. The soundtrack was really good though.

I was looking forward to this movie, but unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of this movie. It was so stereotypical and there was no good conflict or characters. It just felt like an extremely overdramatic Romeo and Juliet. The story and characters were lacking and the whole conflict in the movie was so childish I just kept rolling my eyes instead.

There wasn’t any good build up and REAL conflict. The characters were really flat, they didn’t have any character or lovable qualities.

Review:

Continuing from the prequel, this movie focuses on the trio of guardians, one tasked to help a man through his judgement trials and the other two help a former guardian on Earth.

Check out my review for the prequel over here.

The animation is still as good as the first movie and I really like that we learn more about the history of the guardians (this was what I really wanted to see after the first movie). The stories intertwine at the end of the movie and everything clicks into place.

I was still bawling like I did for the first movie, but this one didn’t feel as impactful as it’s predecessor. I was wiping away tears (I usually only tear up), I literally had a stray tear streaming down over how emotional this movie was, it was equally as heartbreaking as well.

Thanks to the first movie which set up a great premise, the second movie is just as interesting and a must watch for fans of the prequel. It gives us an interesting take on the afterlife and everything that happens in between before leading up the the point of the death and it’s trials during the afterlife.

The Guardians work together to protect the galaxy while at the same time figuring out Peter’s true parentage.

There was definitely similar vibes to the 1st movie, introducing us to the same team. I liked the comedy in this one as well.

I really liked Mantis (I knew I would like her ever since I laid eyes on her in Infinity War). I did feel that this movie was more emotional than the first one, since in this one, we see Peter rediscover himself, the relationship between Gamora and Nebula and their history is explained a little.

A team of intergalactic criminals have to work together to prevent a power hungry warrior from taking control of the universe.

I actually gave this one a go once, but I didn’t really like it. So after loving all the other movies from the MCU, I decided that I should give this one another go (and because my brother was pestering me to watch it).

The lighting was dark and atmospheric while the music was filled with 80s music.

The comedy was really pretty witty and we see a interesting mesh of conflicting characters. Like Peter isn’t much of a leader, but he knows everyone’s goals and motivations and that is how they work together. He’s also an unexpected hero because although we are given a hint as a child he does have a good heart, it is masked when he grows older and ends up stealing for a living, but still revealed again at the end.

I did feel that the build up was nice and the progression as well. But personally I wasn’t a big fan of the characters although they were an interesting mix. (I knew that I would like Mantis better and I knew that she only appears in the second movie).

When Mei meets a secret robot project, the two of them become an inseparable team to take on bullies, evil robots and an evil mastermind.

I didn’t intend to watch this movie, but my brother (who had watched it) recommended it to me and I decided to give it a go. When I was done with the movie, I was like “Big Hero 6 WHO?”

I really like the animation style, it was so detailed that you can even see the creases of the shirt when the characters move! The animation was so precise and detailed, I was shocked that this wasn’t a Disney film! The music was rebellious, upbeat, tech-y and it was well timed and perfectly selected.

This movie definitely gave me Big Hero 6 and Voltron vibes, but this was really good as well.

I love that we have a very anti-hero character and Mei opposes the millennial stereotype of us being addicted to technology, and in fact, she hates it for taking away her life. From the start, we are introduced to two conflicting characters who form an unlikely duo that has us rooting for them since the start. There was definitely an interesting mesh of characters, one angry at the world for what it has taken away from her and the other who is morally innocent, it was an interesting relationship between a anti-hero protagonist and a heroic sidekick.

Can I add that the robots in this movie are so cute? I totally need a Ramen bowl robot! I would love to live in this world!

The comedy was well timed and really entertaining! I really liked the progression and build up of the film. And I must the editing for the most emotional scene in the movie was PERFECT! I was definitely glad that I gave this movie a go!

Definitely check it out!
